I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the replacement you've sent me recently. The pears in the first box I received from my daughter had dark spots that had to be cut out, and one pear was ruined to the core.
Everything else was great. Instead of replacing merely the 5 pears in question, you were gracious enough to send a whole new box with pears, apples, summer sausage, and other goodies. I didn't expect a complete replacement.
You are awesome!

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. My gift was sent overnight to person that I had sent this as as Birthday gift to.
she also received a second box than also sent been sent after the over night. It was a win win for me.
I have tried to reach Harry and David customer service. I was on hold for 2 hours and never reached a person.
I sent a detailed email of the transit day by day. I have heard zero from the company. This is unacceptable.
This has been a great company in the past. What has happened to them?

Received rotten pears we were going to give as Christmas present $164. Wife called, on hold for 40 minutes.
Was told we would get a refund. This is the second credit card cycle, no refund.
We were warned by others this company is terrible and strings you along. Buyer beware.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. Original refund issued was $0.60 on my order of $102.20.
Contacted them through PayPal and received a very quick response and refund of the rest of my payment.
Also found out that the item was out of stock so that was the reason it never shipped. Would have been nice to have been notified of the reason sooner.
I wish I had read the current reviews that people are posting! I would have ordered from someone else. I've tried to contact them using email and their chat, but received no response to the email and the chat timed out before I got connected with anyone.
Judging by other reviews, trying to contact them by phone will be useless as well. I fully figure that I'm out the money I paid them for the order.

I wanted to send a Dried Fruit Tray to a family member for the Holidays. I browsed the Internet and the offerings on the Harry & David website looked superior to other sources.
My first choice was Amazon because the price is lower, the shipping is free and delivery time is 1-2 days after I place the order. But I decided to purchase from Harry and David because the products are nicer. I have received Harry and David fruit as gifts from others in the past and the presentation was always impressive. I placed the order #: W010059****9520 on 11/17/24.
The fruit tray was $79.99 and the shipping charge was $21.99 which seems exorbitant but I went for it because I wanted my relative to get what I perceived as the nicer gift. When I placed the order and agreed to pay $21.99 for shipping I was told in writing that this gift 'Arrives On or Before: 11/27/2024.' So for a $21.00 shipping charge it was going to take 10 days to deliver. Seems a little ridiculous in this day and age most online vendors ship the item to me in a few days, not just Amazon but I'm referring to the majority of e-commerce sites. After I placed this order from Harry and David the email confirmation stated 'We will send you another email once your order has been delivered.' Well 11/27/24 came and went and I never heard from Harry and David about this order being delivered.
I waited patiently and a few more days passed and still nothing from Harry and David. Finally On 12/1/24, two weeks after this order was placed (and paid for) and five days after the promised delivery date, I went on the Harry and David website and navigated to the Chat function. After going back and forth with the Chat Agent I was told that the order has not been shipped yet and the agent offered 'would you like me to arrange for shipping?' At this point I had no confidence in Harry and David's ability to fulfill a shipment so I requested a refund. The Chat Agent did in fact agree to provide a full refund, and the next day I received an email documenting the order cancellation and full refund amount.
Today is 12/7/24, six days later, and the refund has not yet showed up on my credit card account. Hopefully Harry and David will do a better job of fulfilling this refund than they did with shipping the product. So to summarize, I paid more for the product, paid a very high shipping fee, agreed to wait 10 days for the item to arrive, the item never arrived, Harry & David did not inform me that the item was never shipped, and I am still waiting for a refund.
I do not recommend purchasing anything from Harry and David online that requires shipping and will never do business with them again. I am completely dissatisfied.

After many years of amazing fruit (particularly the pears), Harry and David sent a box of rotten Pears to my kids for their holiday gift. Customer service wanted to refund only the shipping charge and then send a replacement gift.
My answer was NO WAY. I don't trust your company and I'm not paying for expensive rotten fruit.
The rep finally agreed to a full refund. Very disappointed with whatever has happened to this company.

Package was never delivered and I was never notified. Shipment was guaranteed by 10/25/2024, it is now 1/29/2025.
I didn't find out until 3 months later (1/22/2025) and only because my credit card finally received a refund, and my credit card company notified me. I contacted Customer Service to find out why it was cancelled and why I wasn't notified, and they would not give me a straight answer.
So, my friends did not get their gift, I was never notified that it was never sent, despite being guaranteed it would be delivered by 10/25/2024, and H&D Customer Service are refusing to tell me why they cancelled it (and held onto my money for 3 months). Buyers, beware!

I have been trying to contact customer service through different mediums for days to report a problem with an order. I received a gift box from a family member, which I opened right away.
It was a tremendous disappointment: the pears were covered in brown and black spots. This is not the first time I have experienced this with gifts from this company.
I need to hear from an actual person asap about how you intend to resolve this matter.
I don't intend to waste any more time holding for someone to no avail. If I received defective/damaged fruits a 3rd time, I will advise the sender to shop elsewhere, and anyone else who might purchase a similar gift box/es.

I was able to contact Harry and David right away, and found the customer service agent to be obliging and apologetic. He sent a lovely gift basket right away to replace it. But this time, I have been unable to get through to a person via phone or email. The wait times are outrageous.

Considering my efforts, you are losing business, and you should know why. I made 7 calls to Harry & David's customer service and ordering department, totaling 3 hours and 16 minutes. I had a conversation with an outsourced Harry & David agent (Liam), who could not speak English, was not adequately trained or, is simply incompetent or both. Unbeknownst to me, she ordered the wrong item from (1) 800 baskets, a company I didn't know existed, and no confirmation email was received after 36 hours. Sensing a problem, I intuitively called to confirm the purchase. Sure enough, the wrong item was ordered by the Harry & David agent - again a person with limited ability and very poor English. I made two calls to customer service to cancel the wrongly processed order.
Agent Jasmin, who spoke clear English, finally explained what went wrong and processed my refund, which I was promised in 7-10 days. I am obviously still waiting. The cancellation of the refund could not be provided. I was told to wait 24 hours for email confirmation. Again, I am waiting.
I was transferred to a Harry & David agent because I had been sent to the wrong department for the third time. I made 3 more calls to agents as late as 11:30 pm to purchase the right item. I received the same computer-generated messages: one call back, but the agent advised that my broken items (???) would be handled by a supervisor who never picked up.
Bottom line: I have not been able to order. So, not only should you know about what is happening to customers, but you should also compensate me by placing the above order free of charge. This would restore my faith in your company, and allow me to praise rather than vociferously condemn Harry & David.
Please have the courtesy to delegate this to a representative who can respond ASAP. I'm kindly notifying you that a copy of this email is being sent to Harry & David's CEO, Steven A. Lightman.

Poor quality
Received pears after several conversations with customer service. I ordered 3 boxes of Royal Rivera pears.
Problems with shipping. When Received the pears look horrid. I am embarrassed as they were gifts.
The taste was okay but again pears looked 100% like rejects. Never ever again will I purchased anything from them

I placed an order on Dec 5 2024 and at the time I paid for the Celebrations Passport. The next time I called to place order (Dec 6 2024) I was charged shipping and handling fees.
I called and was told it showed I purchased Celebrations Passport on their end. At that time I requested that the order be taken on the phone without the charges and update my account, so I would not need to go through this with every order I tried to make. I was advised that I needed to place the order, then be reimbursed for the S&H. I was not willing to trust I would get the reimbursement, so asked for a supervisor which never happened (I waited on hold for a very long time and truly believe I was put on eternal hold).
While still on my phone I used my husbands phone to call and after 30 or so minutes on hold that call was answered, By the time I disconnected the original call I was on the phone for 2 hours and 45 minutes and had no resolve. When another rep answered the call placed on my husbands phone, I explained the situation; representative placed my order without the shipping and handling. I was told the issue with the Celebrations Passport would need to be escalated, and I would hear back in 2448 hours. Never happened.
On Dec16 I called to place another order with H&D and the Celebrations Passport still was not corrected, was being told I did not have Celebrations Passport. I advised that I was looking directly at the receipt, had a Welcome email and the charge was on my credit card. So I asked if that person would place my order verbally and remove. Couldnt or wouldnt do it so after another 1.5 hours on the phone trying to get answers and place my order.
Again, was told I had to place order and the charges would be removed. I placed the order then another call to have the charge of $41.98 for S&H removed.
Now to delivery - my friend that lives 10OO miles away from me, texted to thank me or the gift, telling me, however the pears were pretty much battered and one was black, Oh and the kicker the surrounding ribbon was ORANGE; left over from Thanksgiving? Called H & D on Christmas Eve to express my disdain, and the rep kept saying, I understand your frustration after about the 4th or 5th time hearing that. Told another was being sent out but obviously would not arrive Christmas.
At that time I requested that the order had 2 gifts going to separate families and I wanted the other replaced as well. Cant do that because it was not delivered yet. It will be there by 8:00 P.M. Well here we are the day after Christmas and that package still hasnt been delivered.
(I was told it would be delivered by Dec 24, 2024) After all, I placed the order on Dec 16 and still has not been delivered. What more should I expect?

This company, Harry and David, is absolute garbage, as is 1800flowers.com where I placed the order.
I stopped using 1800flowers.com years ago due to their incompetence and seemingly fraudulent business practices that are baked into their business model.
Thought I'd find out if things had gotten any better over the years and, like most modern shitmerican businesses, have actually gotten worse.
Included in my order was an item from Harry and David. Extra delivery fees were charged due to my choice of expedited delivery.
The day came and went with no delivery.
Upon contacting the losers at 1800flowers.com about it, instead of handling it as the selling entity as any ethical company would do, they of course directed me to contact Harry and David directly to work it out.
This kind of behavior and business practice is called a bait-and-switch and the FTC has made it very clear that it is unlawful in the U.S.
It is unlawful to knowingly use an unlikely-attainable delivery date to incentivize the closing of a sale.
Anyone can look it up for themselves by googling "FTC bait-and-switch". It's also relatively easy to file a report with the FTC on their site.
Upon calling the number I was given by the trashbags at 1800flowers.com, I got someone from Nicaragua who barely spoke English well enough to be understood or to understand.
The rep simply said that there was a delay with the order and it should be delivered sometime within the following six days, which defeated the purpose of paying for expedited shipping and buying the item at all in the first place.
I demanded a refund for the shipping charges but who knows if that will happen given that the rep likely didn't understand English well enough to comprehend the demand.
UPDATE: Harry and David will not issue a refund and will only allow choosing another product from their list of garbage products.
I will be filing a fraud report with the credit card company.
Both Harry and David (likely total losers themselves) and 1800flowers.com should be entirely avoided and purchases should instead be made from their direct competitors.
Also, everyone should do whatever they can to destroy their brand names.
I urge everyone to file reports with the FTC, BBB, state's attorney general, and of course on all major review sites such as this one.
We're all tired of these *** businesses and their unethical and frequently fraudulent behavior, and we need to stand up and put a stop to it.

Honestly, Harry & David, located in Medford, OR, is the worst vendor I've ever used. I've wasted hours this year trying to get a simple $600 order to go through.
Their customer service team is poorly trained and, in countless ways, they've messed up my order this year. I've had issues in the past too.
If you want to spend $600 with a vendor only to have to spend countless hours following up with them when the order is not processed properly (and having to wait more than 1 hour each time on the phone or chat) only to have them keep messing up the order, then Medford's finest business, Harry & David, is the vendor of choice for your holiday gift giving. I'll never work with them again.

them my name and they will bring up my order/ cost. Wrong. I called back 20 mins later, on hold
forever, and the new agent was not able to find my order. I had to start over.
He was patient with my
frustration. Loud on his end so I had to repeat myself a lot. It's not his fault, but I was frustrated.
The card worked fine. There was nothing wrong with my card according to my bank.
Not a good experience.
I was glad Ken was able to process my order. I did however, told him not to say my card information out loud.
It sounded like he had a lot of people around him. Couldn't understand my request. Not sure how well Harry and David order takers are trained?
Confidentiality of my credit card is important to me. I was grateful he was able
to make things work.

They eventually located our order and shipped it, but we were never able to track the order.
First chatted with online representative and was put on hold for 83 minutes. During that I called their customer service phone number and sat on hold 70 minutes before a human answered the phone.
My order still does not show up on the Tracking Board, but the agent I spoke to said it’s there. However I’m worried about this due to the agent on the chat line saying there is no order with the zip codes listed on my order.
Placed order yesterday got confirmation email yesterday but today order no longer exists. I was charged $329.93 what happened to my order? Im currently on hold to speak to Customer Service.

I received a gift package and was excited! But the highlight of the package was the fresh pears that they rave about.
What a joke! I would never buy pears like these - they looked awful. After they ripened, I had to peel them because the skin was so bitter! I never peeled pears before!
When I wanted to complain, the representative wanted the order number. How should I know? It was a gift!
This company charges outrageous prices and sends poor quality products. My advice is to find another company that sends gifts that aren't perishable!
